We are assembling an elite software development team with the expertise and passion for solving challenging unique problems in distributed multi-tenant architecture. You will use your knowledge and creativity to lead and build this team. You will design and build innovative new systems from the ground up. These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives.

As a Senior Development Manager, you will build entire services and act as a leader on your team. We are looking for a hands-on engineering manager who can lead by example. Write exceptional code and tests, mentor others on your team and establish high quality standards, drive design and architecture of your service, and play a key role in planning, execution and operational readiness. As an engineering leader, we expect you to raise the bar for the entire engineering organization – whether through best engineering practices, operational excellence, development process or shared code contributions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6 to 10+ years distributed service engineering experience in a software development environment

  • 2 to 4+ years of managing software engineering teams and/or projects

  • Development experience in a modern programming language, such as Java, C++, C#

  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and operating public cloud service control planes

  • Deep understanding of object-oriented design specifically within a cloud environment

  • Experience working closely with architects, principals, product and program managers to deliver product features on time and with high quality.

  • Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.

  • Deep understanding and hands on experience of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.

  • Demonstrable technical leadership and mentorship skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Building modern data pipelines

  • Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g., OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • Experience driving security reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working with Product Managers from inception through launch

  • Experience and understanding of multi-AD/AZ and regional data centers

  • Building continuous integration/deployment pipelines with robust testing and deployment schedules

Responsibilities

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.
