We are seeking for a Product Integrity Safety Engineer. As the Product Safety Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting various product safety activities across Power & Controls. Collaborating with key stakeholders like the Product Safety Office, Lead, and Manager, you'll ensure a proactive approach to addressing safety issues and driving a world-class safety culture. By working closely with engineering and product development teams, you'll coordinate safety activities to uphold the safe operations of our airborne products. Dive into safety risk analysis and lead corrective action plans to ensure the highest standards of safety are met. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating Power & Controls Product Safety Integrity Teams and Frozen Process Review Boards including hosting and running meetings, creating meeting minutes, creating, and tracking action items

  • Manage PSIT and FPRB (FPRB) assigned action items coordinating with engineering teams and actions owners to ensure timely and successful closure.

  • Collaborate with and support suppliers on manufacturing documentation and approvals on behalf of the FPRB.

  • Support and Maintain Control of Process and Safety (COPS) Database on behalf of PSIT and FPRB

  • Support PSIT oversight of Product Safety Board (PSB) management process of Potential Safety Issue (PSI) process, including management of safety clocks, action items, and tracking of active Corrective Action retrofit campaigns.

  • Perform Safety Risk Analyses in support of safety investigations.

  • Support Product Safety Office and Executive monthly metrics and PSI.

  • Help develop Product Safety expertise and skillsets throughout the organization.

  • Coordinating and supporting program teams through safety activities

  • Support Development of processes to meet internal and industry requirements.

  • Support key technologies and standard safety functionality development.

  • Support management and closing of safety investigations.

  • Support compliance to industry and internal standards.

  • Development and integration support for advancement of Collins safety processes

  • Fostering organizational adoption of safety processes

    Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience collaborating with system architects to ensure safe designs.

  • Analysis of system and safe architectures.

  • Reviewing safe system operation and providing mitigations.

  • Experience creating/reviewing project bids and pursuits.

  • Breadth in engineering concepts focused on airborne systems.

  • Passion for safe operation of aircraft.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
