Summary & Qualifications:

Summary

This position will support all aspects of the Welding Technology Program, assist program instructors in delivering instruction, maintain lab equipment, prepare practice materials, and supervise student lab activities.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) • Attention to detail and good analytical skills • Experience with all common welding processes and weld shop equipment • Mechanical aptitude

Preferred:

• Welding Certification • Some coursework in research methods and statistical analysis

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Mastery of or ability to learn software and computer skills including integration of multiple word processing programs, databases, spreadsheets, data analysis (e.g. SPSS, Snap) and presentation software
