News Corp Australia Mechanical Tradesperson in QLD, Australia

What’s the role?

  • You will operate and maintain machinery in press, reel, publishing and plate making areas to a standard that allows a safe, quality production, on time with a minimum amount of waste.

  • You will be accountable for all assigned maintenance tasks that must be performed in an efficient manner and serviced in line with company procedures, whilst adding value in the further development of these processes and procedures.

Who are you?

To be successful in this role you will require the following:

Essential Requirements:

  • Trade Certificate in Fitting & Turning

  • A strong safety focus as well as a strong focus on quality of work

  • Flexibility to work shift work as required, as well as be on call as required

  • Exceptional diagnostic & problem solving skills

  • Experience in Manufacturing process Work would be Advantageous

  • Computer skills

Desirable requirements:

  • Well-developed communication skills

  • Cert 4 in Hydraulics or Pneumatics

  • Restricted Electrical ticket an advantage

  • Good time management skills with the ability to multi task and prioritise workload

  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvements

  • Lean Manufacturing Cert 3 preferable

  • Knowledge of EAMS (Maintenance Connection) preferable

  • Knowledge of MOYSH Safety system

  • Forklift License advantageous

  • Cert 4 Fluid Power hydronic numerates

A team player, your strong safety orientation coupled with your high level customer service skills will ensure success in this role.
