Job title: Mechanical Designer- Image Chain Components

Job Description - As Mechanical Designer you will be part of the STET team and responsible for driving technical justification, design, and selection of Image chain related components used for X-ray generation.

Your role :

  • Working with the team to decompose high-level features into user stories

  • Selection and lead for verification of the X-ray tubes for different requirements.

  • Working closely together with all stakeholders (supporting functions, Business Units) and other designers from different teams in order to arrange for value-driven priority decisions.

  • Be a reference for the multidisciplinary design team for technical design aspects of X-ray tubes, such as materials- and manufacturing method selection, tolerance stack up, cost engineering, Technical Documentation, etc.

  • Ensuring that there is proper documentation for the design (e.g. design calculations, FMEA, field data analysis, verification reporting)

  • Contributing to technology roadmaps and other strategic-related activities, sourcing strategy including make-buy decisions, supplier selection, and contract management.

You will be part of the SusTenance Engineering Team (STET) in the ISC organization within Philips Healthcare. You are responsible for making decision for the selection and design of the X-ray tubes for different product portfolios of Philips. You will be part of a focused team driving the productivity decisions and project to deliver a cost-effective and competitive product in the market. You should be able to understand the technical requirements of sub-components and System in order to ensure the impact of design changes on the product. To be a right fit for the role, you must be able to address the Voice of customer by design requirement flow down. You must be able to participate in cross-functional engagement model for the DFM, design-cost propositions, technical reviews as part of your work.

  • Bachelor's and Masters degree in Engineering (Mechanical or allied branches)

  • A minimum of 08 years of work experience in design and development activities required.

  • A consistent track record in the understanding of IEC Standards (IEC60601) for medical devices and Knowledge about ISO9001, ISO13485 is highly desirable.

  • Able to understand the CAD documents, and interpret the part features.

  • Familiar with fundamentals for GD&T, tolerance stack up, ASTM-ASME design standards etc.

  • Understands multidisciplinary stakeholder needs and can translate back to a design solution.

  • Hands on experience on CAD tool is an add-on.

  • Exposure to drive complex projects involving cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent Communication skills & Influencing skills are essential.

  • Team player, leadership skills and drive for results with customer focus and Quality mindset.

  • Sound understanding of X-ray tube design and fundamental principles is essential.

  • Analytical, creative, and abstract thinker with the ability to define and understand concepts/problems quickly, able to create and review technical documents and when needed applies a hands-on mentality

  • Experience in the healthcare industry preferred.

  • Ready for travel for 10-15% times as part of work.
