Amazon EU Compliance Manager, Amazon Business in Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager – Compliance. In this position, you will drive the development and implementation of operational compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You will also lead the identification, assessment, and monitoring of key operational risk indicators, areas of improvements, and recommend appropriate action. You will partner with numerous Amazon teams, including Legal, Public Policy, and more than 15 business, product, and policy teams. You must therefore have a thorough understanding of EU regulatory frameworks and a proven track record in creating and implementing operational frameworks, and managing metrics to monitor compliance against requirements. You also must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels

Key job responsibilities

In this job, you will:

• Develop and implement operational compliance oversight frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to EU B2B regulation (for example EU product-related compliance regulations). You will be up to date with regulations, conduct gap analyses, and advise on required changes in the Amazon business.

• Provide accurate and timely second line Compliance advice to the business, in conjunction with stakeholders, on how to mitigate risk within new and existing business propositions and product launches.

• Work with Legal, Risk and business stakeholders to develop and maintain our compliance policies and control framework.

• Lead projects both within Compliance and on Compliance contributions to business projects.

• Monitor and report on compliance risks and issues, collaborating with internal risk management teams to identify necessary mitigation steps.

• Create and deliver training on compliance matters to the wider Amazon business.

Partner with Tax on policies/controls needed and/or the implementation of those controls for AB. This includes:

• Create an overview of required Program specific controls

• Work with Tax on Global Tax Control Frameworks, e.g., invoicing/AR baseline controls

• Help identify need for policies, e.g., in case of tax data abuse observed by risk monitoring teams

A day in the life

The Compliance Manager will:

• Map newly-published regulations and perform a gap analysis against the existing control environment.

• Engage with business stakeholders to provide compliance advice in relation to an existing product.

• Write compliance requirements for new product implementation.

• Review and update Compliance policies to ensure they remain up to date with regulatory requirements, and communicate any changes to business stakeholders.

• Liaise with business stakeholders and data teams to compile data in relation to regulatory reports and ad hoc requests.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent

  • Experience handling confidential information

  • Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL and Excel

  • Experience in program requirements definition, together with data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements
