Job Title: Roofing Material Batch Maker

Job Overview: As a Roofing Material Batch Maker, you will be responsible for the precise formulation and mixing of materials used in the production of roofing products. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a manufacturing environment. The Roofing Material Batch Maker plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of roofing materials, contributing to the overall success of the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Batch Formulation: Accurately measure and weigh raw materials according to established formulas and recipes.
  2. Material Mixing: Operate mixing equipment to blend raw materials thoroughly and uniformly, ensuring consistency in product quality.
  3. Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on batches to verify compliance with specifications and standards.
  4. Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
  5. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on mixing equipment to ensure proper functioning and minimize downtime.
  6. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and notify supervisors of any shortages or discrepancies.
  7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of batch formulations, material usage, and production activities.
  8. Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other members of the production team to prioritize tasks and optimize workflow.
  9. Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise during the batching process, taking proactive measures to resolve them.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in batch formulation or materials mixing.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to equipment operation and chemical handling.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to lift heavy materials and operate machinery for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with roofing materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience operating batch mixing equipment or similar machinery.
  • Basic math skills for calculating measurements and quantities.
  • Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Understanding of quality control principles and practices.

Working Conditions:

  • The role involves working in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to dust, chemicals, and loud noise.
