Racker Program Director Children's Single Point of Access (SPOA) in Ithaca, New York

Overview

Come join Racker in an exciting leadership position! TheChildren’s SPOA Coordinator/Program Directoris responsible for facilitating timely access and linkage to supportive services for children, youth, and families in Tompkins County. This person will also help support the Tompkins County children’s System of Care in collaboration with Tompkins Whole Health. This position has the possibility for remote work and flexible hours.

Position is salaried, 37.5 hours per week, with an annual rate of pay between $65,000-$75,000, depending on education and experience. Responsibilities

  • Serve as resource and clinical l ead for questions or needs regarding children's m ental h ealth services   in Tompkins County

  • Apply clinical skills and experience to assess needs and provide support to individual children , youth and families

  • Assist families and providers with navigating multiple child-serving systems  

  • Identify available county/state resources for children, families and providers (Health Home, CFTSS, HCBS, etc.)  

  • Assist with challenges in access to services  

  • Support children and their families applying for residential level of care (RTF/CR)  

  • Support children and families in crisis  

  • Work in collaboration with representatives of other child-serving systems to improve the functioning of the children’s System of Care within the county, including providing technical assistance to system of care partners  

  • Supervise part-time System of Care Coordinator

  • Convene/ facilitate array of local providers for collaboration on meeting needs of children and families in the mental health system

  • Identify unmet needs that require multi-systemic collaboration, and bring stakeholders together to craft cross -system responses  

  • Provide clinical consultation to local providers

  • Liaise with Health Homes and/or Care Management Agencies, referring children and serving as a resource (consultant) for questions on services available in the county  

  • Collaborate with and educate a wide array of local/community stakeholders (e.g. local hospitals, state hospitals, pediatricians, schools, etc.)  

  • Conduct local outreach and education activities to inform providers and the community of available resources  

  • Serve as local contact for OMH on strategic planning, programmatic feedback, pol icy direction and overall input  

  • Share local data and information on trends, challenges, system and service gaps, best practices, innovative programs, etc.  

Qualifications

  • Education/Certification:  Master’s Degree in relevant mental health field, with at least five years of experience in children's mental health system preferred

  • Skills/Abilities:  Ability to p rovide effective clinical support to youth and their families, establish working relationships and collaborate with cross-system stakeholders  

  • Knowledge: Understanding of the needs of children with social, emotional and behavioral problems and the needs of their families.  Understanding of mental health resources and systems that serve children and families.  

  • Physical Requirements: A bility to operate standard office equipment.
