Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the transport industry based in HONOLULU, Hawaii. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information, preparing and maintaining balance sheets, and financial reporting among other duties. This role will also involve assessing internal controls and supporting taxation requirements. Responsibilities:

• Record, verify, consolidate, and enter transactions to maintain the integrity of accounting information.

• Compile and analyze account information to prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries.

• Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions to maintain and balance subsidiary accounts and resolve discrepancies.

• Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules.

• Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements by collecting and summarizing financial status information.

• Prepare monthly management and financial reporting.

• Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.

• Monitor and support taxation requirements.

• Manage and support accounting assistants.

• Support accounting policies and prepare corresponding documentation.

• Assist with external and internal audit requests by providing information to auditors.

• Perform special duties and other projects as assigned.

Requirements • Must possess skills in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience with Month End Close is necessary

• Proficiency in Oracle and SAP is a must

• Familiarity and experience with SAP Platform is desired

• Candidate should be detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary

• Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

• A degree in Accounting or related field is required

• Previous experience in the Transport industry is highly desirable

• CPA certification is preferred

• Must have the ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically are necessary

• Must have a strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation.
