University Of Northern Colorado Bilingual Communication Strategist in Greeley, Colorado

Job Title: Bilingual Communication Strategist Employer: University of Northern Colorado Work Location: Greeley, Colorado. May work remotely one day a week from within commuting distance to campus.

Job Duties: Support the goals of the university's marketing initiatives through planning, developing, publishing, and pitching brand-building content to effectively engage English and Spanish-speaking constituents. Be responsible for developing and writing brand-building content, evaluating and assessing content, and content packaging with both English and Spanish-reading and speaking audiences in mind. Work with the team's PR strategist to develop and expand UNC's media partnerships, specifically to increase reach and earned media among Spanish language audiences and support bilingual crisis and incident response communication. Promote and help inform the intended public image for UNC. Respond to requests for information from the media; write press releases or other media communications; establish or maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of the university, employees, or public interest groups; and study the objectives, promotional policies, or needs of the university to develop public relations strategies; and coach university represe effective communication with the public or with employees. Update and maintain content posted on the web. Be responsible for the translation process of organizational publications, such as employee newsletters and outbound marketing materials, for internal or external audiences. Prepare and/or deliver speeches to further public relations objectives; confer with production or advertising personnel to produce or coordinate production of advertisements or promotions; and serve as a member of the University Advancement Marketing and Communications team. Demonstrate written and oral proficiency in English and Spanish, promotional, news writing and editing skills, knowledge of marketing communications and techniques, and an understanding of social media.

NOTE: This is not a translator position. The person in this position must be able to write original news, features, and marketing content in both English and Spanish for both English and Spanish-language audiences. This position also informs the bilingual communications strategy for the university, ensuring that any materials translated are done in a culturally reflective manner that adheres to the university's brand.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field + 2 years' experience in a communications-related position.

Other Special Skills or Requirements: Position also requires Working knowledge (defined as 1 year of experience) in: Publishing original content, in both English and Spanish, in news, magazine, journal, or other print or digital marketing; developing original, culturally relevant communications; transcreating content for Spanish-speaking audiences; developing strategy and creating content for digital marketing or social media campaigns for both English and Spanish-language audiences; and working with media relations.

May work remotely one day a week from within commuting distance to campus.

Offered salary range $57,000-$59,000 per year.

Benefits available include health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement plans. Dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%. These tuition grants will cover in-state tuition charges.
