DiaMedical USA Equipment LLC Production and Installation Technician in Farmington Hills, Michigan

DiaMedical USA is a fast-growing medical equipment distributor looking to fill a Production and Installation Technician position in our Farmington Hills, MI office. The Production and Installation Technician is part of a growing team that will be responsible for creating, producing, and manufacturing, assembling, servicing & repairing simulation training equipment. This position will complete production onsite at the Farmington Hills, MI warehouse and travel to client locations both inside and outside of the United States to reassemble and install equipment. 

This position requires the need to be very detail oriented, read blueprints and assembly instructions, possess professional customer service skills, and be able to travel for up to a week at a time. Regular overnight travel is required.

Key Responsibilities and other duties as assigned:

  • Adhere to all company safety and safe-working policies and report any known safety risks or violations to management.
  • Build and assemble parts according to blueprints out of wood and metal using provided tools including but not limited to screw guns, circular saws, jigsaws, drills, and hammers.
  • Package products, secure to pallets, and hand load materials into 3^rd^ party freight carrier.
  • Follow blueprints and instructions to assemble, disassemble, and reassemble items according to customer specifications.
  • Track and report KPIs, such as build time and time to completion, to management.
  • Monitor and report project successes and failures during project.
  • Complete inventory and cycle counts for inventory and supplies.
  • Attend company meetings at warehouse and home office and present information to team members as needed.
  • Complete production reports and other documents as required.
  • Travel and perform work off-site to complete SimRig installation at various customer locations. Travel will be done by either company-provided vehicle or air; and may require travel outside of the United States.
  • Communicate and interact with customers and other site-appointed liaisons.
  • Act as an authorized point of contact to sign for deliveries at DiaMedical's warehouse location as well as at customer locations.
  • Inspect deliveries for accuracy, damages, and unload materials.
  • Other duties as assigned by team lead, supervisor, or management.

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.).

Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints and dimensioned diagrams.
  • Valid driver's license and be permitted for both domestic and international travel.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Proven ability to operate hand and power tools while using ladder.
  • Operate push carts and pallet jacks.
  • Must be dependable and able to work on specified work schedules that may sometimes include weekends and overnights for installs and service at customer site.
  • Previous experience working in a shipping & receiving department or with construction is helpful.
