This is a remote based part time, 40 hours per month (about 10 hours per week) position, which allows for flexible hours, but some of the work will occur during business hours, generally in the form of meetings and communications that are related to the work. This position has the potential for being partially in office if the candidate is located in Prince Georges County. Requirements:

Blue Sky Innovative Solutions (Blue Sky) is seeking a diligent, reliable, organized, result oriented individual. The work to be performed will be in the area of Human Resources administration and management. The selected candidate will assist the HR Manager supporting the day-to-day operations in the areas of on-boarding, benefits administration, employee engagement and other activities.

Additional Responsibilities include:

  • Support personnel onboarding and offboarding

  • Work on projects as assigned.

  • Monitor the Human Resources mailbox to ensure addressing incoming HR requests.

``` - Identify opportunities to enhance personnel experience

  • Record employee status updates, such as change of address, rate increases and terminations, in the HR Information Systems.

  • Informs Payroll department of any changes to employee status and monitors accuracy of payroll and documented hours.

  • Coordinates and conducts background screening, license verification and reference checks of candidates.

  • Data Entry activity as necessary

``` - Policy Development and Documentation

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • The HR Assistant will ask well targeted questions to define parameters of the given tasks and will be capable of defining and communicating the planned action steps to completion.

  • Timely and effective communication regarding his/her assigned project and ultimately its successful execution and reporting is key for this role.

``` - HR Coordinator or Generalist experience preferred. Lack of such experience will not disqualify a candidate, however the candidate should be able to demonstrate the qualities and skills required for the position as outlined in the listing.

  • Good command of various office productivity suites, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Planner, etc.)

  • Experience with Costpoint, ADP Workforce Now and/or JobDiva a Plus.

Education:

A minimum Associate degree preferred. Absence of a degree will not disqualify a candidate if they can demonstrate translatable experience, great problem-solving skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
