MetroHealth COORDINATOR PEER VOLUNTEERS - Trauma Recovery Center in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8 am - 4:30 pm

Summary:

Promotes the implementation and management of Peer Mentor programming at The MetroHealth System. Recruits, trains, manages, and ensures accountability of Peer Volunteers. Coordinates services by providing informal assessments and navigating proper system referrals. Serves as a credible and knowledgeable consultant to medical staff and management regarding trauma-informed practices. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Health Education, or another related field of study from an accredited institution or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below. Experience with Trauma-Informed Care. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational abilities. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently and as a team member. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications. Development and administration of programs for community-based initiatives. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred: Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Health Education, or another related field of study from an accredited institution. Currently licensed by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW). Experience facilitating and organizing group therapy sessions. Previous program management experience. Excellence in public speaking, presentations, and teaching in community and professional settings. Familiarity with electronic medical health record system(s) and documentation

Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate face-to-face, via phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
