Responsibilities Prepares, operates, and monitors hemodialysis machines and systems to provide dialysis treatment for patient with kidney failure. Attaches dialyzer and tubing to machine to assemble for use. Mixes dialysate, according to formula. Initiates dialysis via approved accesses, overserves all safety measures, takes and monitors patient vital signs, administers fluid therapy or other appropriate treatments as directed, and documents activity appropriately. Ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations for patient care and services. Reviews dialysis orders, notes general physical and mental condition of patient through observations and interview; documents observations. Observes dialysis machines and RO water system for correct functioning, responds to visual and audible alarms, and makes appropriate adjustments before, during, and after the dialysis treatment. Monitors patient for adverse reactions. Dismantles, cleans, and disinfects dialysis machines and equipment. As a Nursing Assistant (NA), you will be working alongside highly skilled clinicians and some of the best critical care nurses in the country. You will work under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse and perform routine tasks in patient care, bedside nursing, and documentation of care provided. Performing services for the patient involving bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair. Answering patient lights and performing services in a timely manner that adds to the physical well-being of the patient. Participating in hourly rounds. Transporting patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary; assisting transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs. Maintaining the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs. Keeping the patient's rooms in clean and orderly condition, including making beds. Maintaining unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Either: Valid state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) At least two (2) years of experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
