Follett School Solutions Communications Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio

Position Overview: The Software Communications Manager for Internal and External Communications will provide consistent, targeted, and impactful messaging to both our internal and external constituents. This skilled communicator will be responsible for managing and coordinating the flow of information both within the Follett Software organization (internal communications) and between the organization and its various stakeholders (external communications). Your role is crucial in maintaining a positive image, promoting transparency, and ensuring consistent messaging across different platforms. Responsibilities: Internal Communications: Employee Engagement: Developing strategies to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with the company's goals and values. Information Dissemination: Creating and distributing internal newsletters, memos, and announcements to keep employees informed about company updates, initiatives, and changes. Intranet and Digital Platforms: Working cross-functionally to oversee the organization's shared communication tools to provide a central hub for sharing information, documents, and resources. Change Management: Crafting communication plans to support smooth transitions during times of change, such as mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, or policy shifts. Crisis Communications: Developing and executing internal communication strategies during crises or emergencies to keep employees informed, calm, and proactive. Feedback Channels: Establishing channels for employees to provide feedback, suggestions, and concerns, and ensuring these are addressed appropriately. External Communications: Work strategically with PR company on all aspects of below / Manage team of freelance writers Media Relations: Building and maintaining relationships with journalists, bloggers, and media outlets to ensure accurate and positive coverage of the organization. Press Releases: Writing and distributing press releases to announce significant company news, product launches, partnerships, and other noteworthy events. Social Media Management: Work in coordination with the Social Media Manger to consult on the organization's social media presence, developing content, and engaging with the audience to enhance brand visibility and reputation. Public Relations: Developing and executing public relations strategies to manage the organization's image and reputation, respond to external inquiries, and handle issues that may arise. Stakeholder Engagement: Communicating with external stakeholders such as customers, investors, partners, and regulatory bodies to keep them informed about the organization's activities and developments. Content Creation: Creating compelling content for the organization's website, blogs, emails, and other platforms to educate engage and convert external audiences. Event Management: Advise on the planning and executing events, conferences, and trade shows to showcase the organization's products, services, and expertise. Overall Responsibilities: Message Consistency: Ensuring that messages conveyed both internally and externally are consistent and aligned with the organization's values, mission, and objectives. Brand Management: Safeguarding and enhancing the organization's brand identity and reputation through strategic communication. Measurement and Analysis: Tracking the effectiveness of communication strategies using metrics such as engagement rates, media mentions, website traffic, and feedback from stakeholders. Collaboration: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including individual marketing divisions, HR, legal, and senior leadership, to ensure communication efforts are aligned with overall business strategies.
