FirstService Residential Community Association Manager in Chicago, Illinois

As a Community Association Manager,you’llprovidestrong leadership and management direction on behalf of the Board of Directors and FirstService Residential.You'llserve as a liaison to the community, enhance communication, enforce legal compliance, and oversee operations of the association and staff management.ÂÂ

This opportunity is available in theRiver Northneighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.ÂÂ

Your Responsibilities:Â Â

Â

  • Develop recommendations forcommunitygoals and lead action plans to achieve Boardobjectives. Â
  • Providecommunity leadershipandguidanceto ensure that the needs or desires of the homeowners are being addressed.Â
  • In partnership with the Board, create and implement the annual working budget.On a monthly basis, monitor and report on the financial position of the association.Â

  • Ensure due diligence for the protection of client’s funds, property, and assets against allreasonably foreseeablecontingencies or losses.Â

  • Provide leadership to each meeting involving the Board of Directors in terms of agenda support and written and oral reports.  Summarize the priorities of each meeting withappropriate followup. Â
  • Maintain a level of service excellence in all interactions with residents, vendors, staff, andcolleagues withknowledge and enforcement of the Community Governing Documents.Â
  • Assess and monitor community needs:identifyopportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures and developingnew programs. Select and collaborate with external vendor partnersto implement programs or improvements. Â
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all community staffin accordance withthe documented management plan. Evaluate and make recommendations for efficient and effective support of the community.Â

  • Work closely with local emergency organizations tomaintainestablished emergency and community evacuation plans asappropriate. Â

  • Perform building inspection of interior and exterior of property. Maintain on-site visibility throughoutcommon areasand facilities. ÂÂ
  • In accordance withthe Illinois Condo Act and FirstService Residential policies,complywithall codes and regulatory requirements for the property, including assessing and correcting any violations received by various regulatory agencies.Â

Skills & Qualifications:Â Â

Â

  • Active Community Association Manager license in the state of Illinois.Â
  • Understanding of physical building management, Condominium law, financial planning, and law affecting property management.Â
  • Works effectively with coworkers, clients, customers, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; addresses problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions. Â
  • Possess budgetary knowledge and control for the purpose(s) of executing programs within the community as well as related activities that may be cost-shared for the benefit of the community. Â

  • Mustpossessa high energy attitude and an ability to multi-task/prioritize different projects at any given time.Â

  • Superior oral and written communication skills.ÂÂ
  • Community management experience or equivalent professional experience in a related field strongly preferred.Â
  • Â

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Â

  • Supervise management office and association staff members. Where applicable, association staff may be members of local unions.ÂÂ
