The VVH Senior Institutional Custodian is a leadership position within the Custodial/Housekeeping/Laundry Department at the Vermont Veterans\' Home (VVH), a skilled nursing facility. Duties will include working in laundry and custodial, conducting audits, inventory, training new employees, addressing employee concerns and submitting a daily report to the supervisor. At times, you will have to reassign staff during an assigned shift. The ability to work cooperatively is essential.\ \ We currently have two (2) openings for this position. The hours for one of the positions are 6am to 2:30pm, and the hours for the second position are 11am to 7:30pm. Both include working weekends and holidays. There are times when the position may require that you be able to work the other shift due to the operating needs of the facility.

Environmental Factors

\ Duties are performed in a nursing home environment, including office, common areas and patient care areas. Ability to work under stressful conditions required. Incumbents must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather. Good physical condition and ability to climb ladders and lift heavy weights and equipment (up to 40 lbs.) is necessary. Positions may be day or evening shift. Weekend shifts are required. Some overtime may be required.
